CRYOLIPOLYSIS
Cryolipolysis is a scientifically proven method of eliminating unwanted fat deposits by applying cold. Adipocytes (fat cells) are much more sensitive to cold than other cell types. This means that muscle and nerve cells are selectively spared. The method is considered low-risk and effective. Up to approx. 15-30% of fat cells can be destroyed per session, so that 3 sessions per treated area at intervals of at least 3 weeks are recommended.
- Waist and hips
- Upper and lower abdomen
- Outside of the thighs
- Inside of the thighs
- Side back ("bra band")
- Upper arms (back)
- Breast (in men)
The procedure is suitable for healthy men and women with normal dietary and exercise habits in order to specifically reduce annoying localized fat deposits. The procedure is not suitable for reducing overall body weight if you are overweight. After traditional liposuction surgery, cryolipolysis is the most commonly used and, according to studies, the most effective method of eliminating fat deposits.
* No surgery / no injections
* No scars / no dents
* Low-pain and low-risk
* No downtime
* Effectiveness proven in numerous scientific studies
* The mode of action of cryolipolysis

The clear susceptibility of fat cells to cold has been known for a long time. Hypothermia causes selective cold-induced panniculitis of the fat cells, which was already published in several case reports at the end of the 1960s1,2.
The targeted application of cold to fat cells was first reported in November 2008 in a scientific article by the two dermatologists Dieter Manstein and R. Rox Anderson (Wellman Center for Photomedicine at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston) in the journal Lasers in Surgery and Medicine3.
Since then, the cryolipolysis procedure has been widely used, particularly in the field of cosmetic medicine, as it is an effective and safe method of reducing fat deposits reliably and over the long term. Compared to other procedures, such as ultrasound therapy, cryolipolysis showed better effectiveness per session (up to 28.5%)4 in a review of 19 studies, with fewer sessions required to achieve the treatment goal.

Treatment begins with a detailed consultation in which your wishes and the treatment areas are first discussed. We also need anamnestic information from you regarding previous illnesses and medication intake. You will be informed about the - in this case - few risks of the treatment and your open questions will be answered.
The cold treatment takes place comfortably lying down and lasts 60 minutes. While standing, the fat pad is marked and the skin thickness is measured. The skin of the area to be treated is reliably protected from frostbite by a special fleece with anti-freezing gel. A suction effect can be felt at the beginning due to the use of the vacuum on the applicator, the treatment is not painful.
Following cryolipolysis, the cooled areas are treated with a hyaluronic serum, which is infiltrated into the skin using an ultrasound device with ion technology. The additional light therapy also has a collagen-building effect and the vibration massage stimulates blood circulation.
To optimize the success of the treatment, we recommend a subsequent lymphatic drainage and soothing massage using our Wellmaxx body shaping device.
Patient satisfaction was reported in studies with 73% after the first therapy session6.

In order to avoid the occurrence of bruising after the treatment, the intake of blood-thinning medication such as aspirin and combination preparations containing acetylsalicylic acid (e.g. Thomapyrin, Gripphexal) should be avoided 10 days beforehand - as far as medically justifiable. We advise against treatment in the case of long-term medication with anticoagulants (e.g. Marcumar, ASA 100 mg). As part of the consultation, anamnestic information is collected, carefully checked individually and advice is given as to whether individual contraindications exist.
Although effective, cryolipolysis treatment is considered gentle and low-risk, so you can return to your usual daily routine and have no downtime. Side effects may include redness, occasional bruising (hematomas) and numbness in the affected areas of skin, although in most cases this only lasts for a few days. In rare cases or when cryolipolysis is used without suitable anti-freeze membranes, skin burns (stage 2 with burn blisters) may occur.
The definitive result of the treatment is seen after approx. 2 to 4 months. We recommend an interval of 3-4 weeks between treatments of the same skin area.
In order to achieve optimum treatment success, you should ensure that you drink enough and ideally combine the cryolipolysis treatments with sporting activity and a healthy, low-fat diet.
